Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu is holding a variety of contacts in Antalya, Türkiye and within the framework of his contacts he visited the Antalya Autism Day Care and Rehabilitation and Family Counselling Centre Directorate.
The Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, visited the Antalya Autism Day Care and Rehabilitation and Family Counselling Centre Directorate during his visit to Antalya.
He was given a detailed presentation about the centre, including information about legal legislation, operating principles and rules related to opening an autism centre in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
The discussions focused on fully equipping the forthcoming autism centre, which will be the first of its kind in the TRNC.
Minister Gardiyanoğlu mentioned that they are following the examples of social service policies in Türkiye and have declared this year as the “social service year” in the TRNC.
They have been renovating and opening new rehabilitation centres for various groups, including children, the elderly, and women.
The minister emphasized that the TRNC currently lacks an autism centre and they are working towards establishing one.
He stated that they will model the centre after similar ones in Türkiye and convert an existing facility into an autism centre.
Gardiyanoğlu praised Türkiye’s role in areas such as autism, stating that they have taken inspiration from the laws and systems implemented in Türkiye to expedite their own initiatives in the TRNC.
