The names of the Angels Team, teachers and parents who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster that led to much destruction in Türkiye will be kept alive in the remembrance forest created in Mehmetçik.

In cooperation with Mehmetçik Municipality and Çelebi Garden Hotel, 35 olive and carob saplings have been planted at the Gazimağusa Turk Maarif College Angels Team Mehmetçik Remembrance Forest.

A Remembrance Forest in the name of the Angles Team has been created in Mehmetçik.

35 olive and carob saplings were planted in the event organized in cooperation with Mehmetçik Municipality and Çelebi Garden Hotel.

Emotions ran high during the event, which was attended by the relatives of those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Türkiye.

Mehmetçik Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu expressed her condolences for those who lost their lives in the earthquake and noted that as a society they are going through very difficult times due to the loss of lives.

She said that with the creation of the Remembrance Forest they are immortalizing the Angles Team.

Buse Çelebi, director from the Çelebi Garden Hotel, said that they too deeply shared the pains of the people and they as an establishment organise cultural and nature tours for their customers.

“We will be informing those who visit our hotel about the story of the Angels Team” said Çelebi.
