The Girne Fest 23 Cultural and Arts Festival” begins this Friday, September 1st.
The organisation which gathers all festivals under one roof will continue with various events until October 10.
The “Arkın Group Girne Fest 23” cultural and arts festival, organized by the Girne Municipality with the main sponsorship of Arkın Group, will start on September 1st; it was announced at a press conference held at the Girne Colony Hotel on Monday.
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul, Erbil Arkın, the Chairman of Arkın Group Executive Board, Arucad, Dome Hotel, Merit Park Hotel, and Turkcell officials, as well as Girne Municipality council members, attended the meeting.
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul expressed great joy in bringing to life a comprehensive organization that includes not only social and cultural activities but also three separate festivals organized by the Girne Municipality.
Stating that the festival sponsored by Arkın Group and with contributions from Dome Hotel, Merit Park Hotel, and Turkcell is an important indicator of cooperation between the municipality and the private sector, Murat Şenkul emphasized their aim was to transform Girne into a popular centre for arts and culture.
He also mentioned that in this extensive organization, which includes the Ozanköy Pekmez [Carob Syrup] Festival, the Karaoğlanoğlu Antis Sea Festival, and the Olive Festival, there will be not only artistic and cultural events but also sports competitions.
Erbil Arkın, Chairman of Arkın Group Executive Board, emphasized the significant importance of artistic and cultural events in social life and expressed great pleasure in contributing to this festival that will add a distinct value to Girne in the future.
He stated his belief that this extensive festival will not only benefit Girne but also provide unforgettable moments for all the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), inviting everyone to the festival.
Representatives from Dome Hotel, Merit Park Hotel, and Türkcell, who contributed to the festival, also expressed their great pleasure in being part of the festival and shared short speeches.

In addition to the plays staged by the Turkish State Theatres, the festival will also feature popular Turkish bands and singers such as Manga, Cahit Berkay, Ziynet Sali, Haluk Levent, and Edip Akbayram.
The festival will conclude with the Olive Festival to be held in October.
