President Ersin Tatar, accompanied by his wife Sibel Tatar, attended the end-of-year performances, graduation ceremony, and exhibition opening at the Lefkoşa Special Education and Vocational Training School.
The Minister of National Education and Culture, Nazım Çavuşoğlu, and the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Metin Feyzioğlu, were also present at the event.
Addressing the ceremony, President Ersin Tatar emphasized the importance of education for children with special needs to be able to look to the future with hope and thanked the administrators and teachers of the Lefkoşa Special Education and Vocational Training School for their efforts.
Tatar underlined their intention to provide equal opportunities in education to all segments of society, to govern the state with a contemporary understanding, and take care of children.
He mentioned their desire to utilize the resources of the state and obtain contributions from Turkey as much as possible to prepare children with special needs for life using science and technology.
The Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Metin Feyzioğlu who also delivered a speech at the event emphasized the importance of supporting education for the future of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Following the speeches, the exhibition was opened.
