The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu accepted the folk dance teams that came to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to take part in the 60th Grape Festival organized by the Mehmetçik Municipality.
Delivering a short speech while receiving folk dance delegations from Mexico, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Türkiye and the TRNC Folk Dance teams, Ataoğlu said that another important element of festivals, which constitute a very important place for the promotion of the country, is that folk dance teams from different countries learn about the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, its people and culture.
He also stated that the festivals carried out at international level contribute to the promotion of the country.
“International festivals, which have become so rooted and traditional, contribute greatly to the country’s promotion. In this sense, I would like to express my endless thanks to the people of Mehmetçik, especially the Mayor of the Mehmetçik Municipality, who contributed to the promotion of the country’s culture” Ataoğlu said.
