Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler stressed that Türkiye will continue to be present in Cyprus for the sake of security, peace, and stability, and will keep supporting the legitimate interests of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) under all circumstances.

Güler also stated that futile efforts serving the lack of resolution harmed the security environment on the island.

Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, in his speech during the ceremony held at the Ministry of National Defence as part of Veterans Day, stressed the importance of the “Blue Homeland” and Cyprus.

Güler underlined that the rights and interests in the “Blue Homeland” and “Sky Homeland” were being protected without compromise, stating, “Within this framework, we are present in Cyprus, our national cause, under the Guarantee and Alliance Treaties, and we continue to support the legitimate interests of our Cypriot brothers and sisters under all circumstances.”

Pointing out that the provocative actions and statements of those who constantly create tension would not benefit anyone, he added that these futile efforts, which serve the lack of a resolution, were also damaging the security environment on the island.

Güler also stressed that they will continue to be present on the island for peace and stability, and to support the legitimate interests of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) under all conditions.

“We are closely monitoring the initiatives of third parties in the region, and I find it necessary to stress that our own initiatives are always ready in response to these. I want to reiterate that, as we have done so far, we will continue to be present on the island for security, peace, and stability, and will keep supporting the legitimate interests of our brotherly Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus under all circumstances. We will also continue our activities in the Eastern Mediterranean in an effective and determined manner” Minister Güler stressed.
