President Ersin Tatar visited the grave of Halil Pasha, who held important positions in the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) and was a member of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Founding Assembly, and commemorated Halil Pasha on the first anniversary of his death.

Tatar said that it is very important that Halil Pasha’s name is remembered and commemorated.

Halil Pasha held important positions in the Turkish Resistance Organization, was a member of the TRNC Founding Assembly and served as the President of the TMT Fighters Association for 16 years.

Delivering a short speech during the visit President Tatar stated that Halil Pasha provided great services to the country and said that his services will never be forgotten.

Reminding that Halil Pasha gave great services in the national struggle as a true patriot, Tatar said, “He always served as a respected person among the Turkish Cypriots with his respected personality and compassion.”
