National Unity Party(UBP) Member of Parliament Hasan Taçoy has officially submitted his candidacy for the UBP General Presidency in the upcoming 23rd Ordinary Congress, scheduled for September 21.
Accompanied by his family, Hasan Taçoy arrived at the UBP General Headquarters in Köşklüçiftlik around 11:00 AM to present his application to UBP General Secretary Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu.
Following the submission, Taçoy addressed the press.
UBP MP Hasan Taçoy expressed his belief that the party has not been managed properly for over a year and stated that his first step was to fight against this mismanagement.
He said he is taking his second step by applying for the presidency today. Taçoy emphasized his confidence in his party, family, and friends while making this decision.
“The third step is now up to the party members,” he added.
Taçoy conveyed his vision for “a period where the sun of the National Unity Party will shine brighter” and noted that his team has been working on both party and governmental issues.
“Our goal is to lift the dark clouds hanging over the party,” Taçoy said, highlighting his dedication to the country and his belief in his party and its members.
Taçoy expressed his hopes for a fair democratic race at the congress and wished for his candidacy to be beneficial for both the party and the country.
Taçoy has become the second official candidate following Ahmet Melih Karavelioğlu to officially submit his candidacy.
Incumbent UBP leader and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also announced last week that he will be running for a second term.
