Chairman of the TRNC Parliament’s delegation for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), National Unity Party (UBP) MP Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Armağan Candan attended the General Assembly meetings of PACE in the city of Strasbourg, France.

During the General Assembly, Hasipoğlu, who posed a question to the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodulides, asked him whether the Greek Cypriot administration was willing to share power with Turkish Cypriots or the wealth surrounding the island and if the unjust embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people should be lifted.

In a statement issued by the National Unity Party’s press bureau, Hasipoğlu said, “Even if the Greek Cypriot leader refused to respond to us, we managed to make our voice heard to 300 European parliamentarians and the Greek Council president Theodoros Rousopoulos,” emphasizing that they will continue to make the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people heard at the highest level in Europe.
