National Unity Party General Secretary Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu took part on a program on BRT on Wednesday and evaluated his expectations for 2024.
Stating that as the UBP they will continue to do their part for 2024 to be more productive in domestic politics, Hasipoğlu said, “We wish 2024 to be a year of peace and tranquillity in the world and a better year in our country”.
He also pointed to the earthquake disaster in Türkiye earlier this year and stated that they will continue to follow the justice process on the Isias Hotel case.
“Our angels will not come back, but with the real manifestation of justice, at least consciences will be a little relieved” said Hasipoğlu.
He also reminded that they will be in Adıyaman with Prime Minister Ünal Üstel together with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Republic’s Assembly’s Judicial Process Monitoring Committee on the Earthquake in order to follow the trial that will start on January 3, 2024.
Upon being reminded of the discourse that the Cyprus Issue will be active in 2024, Hasipoğlu said that the period of waiting for different results by talking about the same things in Cyprus is now over.
“Enough is enough. We said that we will not sit at the table until our equal international status and sovereign equality are recognized. Our President’s policy is fully supported by Motherland Türkiye. We will continue to insist on this new policy, which was taken at the right time and on the right ground in 2024” said Hasipoğlu.
Stating that they are not disturbed by the Turkish-Greek rapprochement and that they support dialogue and diplomacy, Hasipoğlu said that they will not allow the Greek Cypriot side to abuse this.
