Higher Education Advisory Board meeting

The Higher Education Advisory Board meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu.

Problems in higher education were discussed during the meeting.

The Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu chaired the Higher Education Advisory Board meeting.

The meeting, held at the Ministry was attended by the Higher Education, Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and YÖDAK members, the President of the Cyprus Universities Association Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, rectors of universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), representatives from all ministries, Police General Director (PGM) Director of Immigration Chief Inspector Fevzi Öztümen, Director of the Ministry of National Education Department of Higher Education and Foreign Relations Behçet Çelebi and other officials.

Speaking prior to the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that they organized such a comprehensive meeting for the first time and said, “Members of YÖDAK and the Cyprus Universities Association, university rectors and representatives in our country are here. Now we are here to solve the problems we face one by one. Our aim is to minimize all problems and move our Higher Education sector, which is extremely vital for our country, to a better position.”

Çavuşoğlu expressed the hope that they will be able to eliminate all the problems faced by the students who come to the TRNC to study and to create a better education system for them.

“Today, everyone here will share their own problems and we will look for solutions together at this table. Today, friends responsible for all relevant departments of the state are here with us and they will help us solve the problems. Our aim is to eliminate problems and create a better education and training system,” said Çavuşoğlu.
