A meeting was held on Tuesday at the Ministry of National Education to discuss the way forward concerning university students from earthquake stricken areas in Türkiye enrolled in TRNC universities.

The meeting held at the Ministry of National Education chaired by Education Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu, the Minister of Finance Alişan Şan, the Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu, the head of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) Prof. Dr Turgay Avcı as well as other bureaucrats and experts.

Plans and steps that will ensure that students from earthquake hit areas in Türkiye can continue their university education without any interruption was discussed at the meeting.

Discussions also focused on ways of addressing issues which might arise due to the situation in Türkiye.
