The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage has completed the conservation work at the historic Kalavason Village Mosque.

According to the information given by the Co-Chairman of the Bilateral Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage Ali Tuncay, which carries out its work under the Presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the conservation work at the Kalavason Village mosque in the Larnaca region, where the committee has been working, has been completed.

Tuncay added that the conservation work at the mosque was carried out with the financial contribution of the European Union to the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage and the technical support of the United Nations Development Program.

Once all work was completed, a visit to the mosque was organized with the participation of the Co-Chairs of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage and members of the Committee, representatives of the European Commission, the Office of the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General on Cyprus, the United Nations Development Program and Turkish Cypriots of Kalavason origin.
