The Free Businesspersons’ Association together with the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality hosted an İftar or fast-breaking dinner for survivors of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake who are now currently residing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu, Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmancı, ministers, politicians, bureaucrats and around 700 earthquake victims living in the TRNC attended the İftar program.

A prayer session was realized for those who lost their lives in the earthquakes following the fast-breaking meal.

Delivering a short speech at the event, President Tatar said that the earthquake disaster had not only deeply affected Türkiye but the TRNC as well and expressed the view that the wounds caused by the disaster would be healed in unity.
