There has been an increase in the number of passengers and aircrafts at Ercan Airport compared to the first seven months of 2023 and 2024.
There has been an increase of 25.88 percent in the number of passengers and 15.52 percent in the number of aircrafts.
Looking at the number of passengers arriving and departing at the airport, July is again in the lead.
According to a statement made by T&T Airport Management, in the first 7-month period covering January-July 2023 and January-July 2024, the number of passengers increased by 25.88 percent and the number of aircrafts increased by 15.52 percent at the new Ercan Airport, the largest airport on the island of Cyprus.
While the old Ercan Airport served 14 thousand 467 aircraft between January-July 2023, with the commissioning of the new Ercan Airport, this number increased by 15.52 percent between January-July 2024 and reached 16 thousand 713.
Looking at the number of passengers, the old airport served 2 million 71 thousand 874 passengers between January and July 2023.
With the opening of the new Ercan Airport this number increased to 2 million 608 thousand 7 passengers arriving and departing between January and July 2024.
Looking at the number of passengers between January and July 2023, the highest increase was experienced in July.
In July 2023, Ercan Airport hosted 367 thousand 393 passengers.
In the first seven months of 2024, July again takes the lead in the number of passengers arriving and departing from the airport.
A total of 426 thousand 60 people travelled from Ercan Airport last month.
