International symposium on lost cultural heritage

The International Symposium on Lost and Endangered Cultural Heritage which aims to strengthen the perception of cultural heritage protection and draw attention to destroyed or lost cultural heritage began on Thursday.

It is the first time such a symposium is being organised in the TRNC through collaboration between the National Archives and Research Department, the Cultural Heritage Protection and Research Association, and the Alashia Terracotta Art Community.

The main objective of the symposium, hosted at the Acapulco Hotel, is to strengthen the perception of cultural heritage protection for the endangered and disappearing cultural heritage and shed light on efforts to preserve cultural heritage.

With the participation of experts from Türkiye, the symposium will include 40 presentations and workshops on various topics.

The President of the Cultural Heritage Protection and Research Association Serkan Gedük, Ayhatun Ateşin on behalf of the Alashia Terracotta Art Community, and Ejdan Sadrazam, the Director of the National Archives and Research Department, expressed their views on the symposium, stating, “This project is a mobilization for our culture and the future of our participants; it will be a turning point.”
