At the opening ceremony in Yenierenköy, the Mayor of the Yenierenköy-Karpaz Municipality, Dr. Hamit Bakırcı, stressed that Social Services, Social Security, and Provident Fund services will be provided locally rather than from the central administration, which is of great importance for the region.
The Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu stated that there is no village, from Yeşilırmak to Karpaz, where they have not set foot or provided services.
He also added that, for the first time in Yenierenköy, social services and provident fund services will be offered, and that the same services available in districts and central areas will be available in Karpaz as well.
Minister Gardiyanoğlu added that the foundation for a rehabilitation and elderly care home will be laid in Yenierenköy in 2025 and wished that the newly opened departments will bring prosperity and good fortune to the local people.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, for his part stressed the importance of having social service buildings, which were a major request from the local people, now providing services in the region.
He also reminded everyone that since coming to power, the government had been fulfilling the promises made to the citizens one by one.
Üstel added that, despite obstacles, the Municipal Reform Law was passed, and even municipalities that initially opposed the law are now expressing their gratitude.
Reminding that the highest-level agreements and protocols signed with the motherland, Türkiye, were addressing the needs of the people, he said projects related to citizens’ needs were being implemented one by one based on their urgency.
The Premier also touched upon the importance of social aid recipients receiving services in their own regions, stating “initially, the newly opened departments will provide services on specific days of the week, but eventually, they will operate full-time.”
“Now it’s Zafer Burnu’s turn. We will bring the road leading to Zafer Burnu and the Karpaz region, and the work is complete” Üstel said and stressed that they did not consider anyone’s party affiliation in delivering these services.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel then inaugurated the social services, provident fund, and social services building in Mehmetçik, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
Speaking there, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel shared that they had been implementing projects based on requests from the public, noting that over the past two and a half years, they have fulfilled every request from the people of Mehmetçik one by one.
Reminding that they faced many unjust criticisms during the Municipal Reform period, Üstel highlighted that the reform had strengthened the municipalities and improved the quality of services provided to citizens.
Üstel wished that the newly inaugurated departments in Mehmetçik would be beneficial and auspicious for the local people.
