Iranian painter Pakdel’s work will be printed as a commemorative stamp

The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı received Iranian artist Alireza Pakdel on Wednesday.

Pakdel is the artist who drew the cartoon which depicts a girl and a boy playing volleyball with the moon and stars.

The Post Office will be releasing the cartoon drawn by Iranian painter and cartoonist Alireza Pakdel for “The Champion Angels” as a commemorative stamp and first day cover.

The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı, who received Pakdel, said that the work was very meaningful adding that they want to immortalize it.

Arıklı also added that 40,000 commemorative stamps and 2,000 first day covers will be printed and offered for sale as soon as possible.

Alireza Pakdel for his part said that he was very touched by the fact that his drawing will be on a postal stamp and added that he was happy to see his work being used for a good cause.
