İsmet Baykur, who served as a commander during the Turkish Cypriot people’s struggle for freedom and who later served as Director of the Customs Department in Gazimağusa was laid to rest with a military ceremony in Gazimağusa.

President Ersin Tatar, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, some deputies and Baykur’s family and friends attended the ceremony that took place at the Lala Mustafa Paşa Mosque.

He was laid to eternal rest at the Gazimağusa Cemetery following funeral prayers.
