As tensions escalate between Israel and Iran, Israel continues its attacks on Gaza.
In a meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran as a grave mistake that would not go unanswered.
According to Iranian state television, President Masoud Pezeshkian received Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi during his visit to the capital, Tehran.
During the meeting, Pezeshkian described the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was officially visiting Iran, as a violation of international law and a grave mistake by the Israeli regime that would not go unanswered.
“The Zionists’ audacity will not go unanswered” Pezeshkian stressed.
Noting that Iran’s foreign policy prioritizes stability in the region and worldwide, he underlined the importance of Islamic countries acting collectively to stop Israeli attacks against Palestinians.
Safadi, for his part, conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Jordan’s King Abdullah to Pezeshkian, stating that his country supported good relations with Iran.
Noting that Jordan condemned the Zionist regime’s brutal aggression in Gaza from the beginning, Safadi also condemned the assassination of Haniyeh by Israel.
Meanwhile, Israel continued its attacks on Palestine on Sunday.
The Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported that Israel targeted two schools housing displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The attack on civilians resulted in at least 25 Palestinians being killed and many others injured.
It was reported that 80% of those who lost their lives were children.
In response, the Israeli military stated that the attacks targeted Hamas members operating around the schools.
