Istanbul Economy Summit

Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu stated that they are planning a very large organized industrial zone in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and that this zone will be completely export-oriented.

Speaking at the Istanbul Economic Summit, Amcaoğlu also emphasized that they are exerting great efforts to have an interconnected system between Türkiye and the TRNC.

The Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu delivered at speech at the opening of the second day of the 7th Istanbul Economic Summit organized in Istanbul, Türkiye under the theme ‘Sustainable Living and Smart Cities’.

In his speech, Amcaoğlu said that as the Ministry of Economy and Energy in the TRNC, actions regarding the production and export of high value-added products, technology being used in production and good governance are being discussed under the main headings.

Stating that they are planning a very large organized industrial zone in the TRNC in order to do all these and that this zone will be completely export-oriented, Amcaoğlu explained that the legal and physical infrastructures in every field are almost completed.

He also underlined that development can be possible with energy and emphasized that they are making serious efforts to have an interconnected system between Türkiye and the TRNC.

Pointing to Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian people, Amcaoğlu said, “The same genocide was tried on us, but with Türkiye’s timely reactions and assistance, we are now standing upright as the 17th Turkic state”.
