Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot journalists planted saplings together in the capital Lefkoşa over the weekend.

The event, where the executive boards of the Turkish Cypriot Journalists Association and the Cyprus Journalists’ Union participated, took place in a park in Taşkınköy.

The event was attended by the President of the Turkish Cypriot Journalists Association Emin Akkor and the President of the Cyprus Journalists Union Yorgos Frangos, as well as board members of the two organizations.

The Mayor of Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality Mehmet Harmancı, who provided the venue and equipment, also joined in the event.

Olive, pine, brush, ficus and araucaria saplings were planted at the joint event organized to contribute to peace and nature in Cyprus.

A similar event had taken place at the Press Village in Pervolia in March 2017.
