The Kozanköy Rauf Raif Denktaş Stadium was reopened to use on Sunday following the completion of infrastructure works, the installation of an automatic irrigation system and the renovation of the turf pitch.

President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel were among those who attended the stadium’s re-opening ceremony. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Üstel expressed their joy in reuniting Kozanköy’s community and its youth with their football pitch.

The Prime Minister said, “Through the collaborative efforts of the Prime Ministry’s Sports Department and the Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality, we are pleased to have upgraded our stadium making it more suitable for our youth to train and play under better conditions. The government will continue to invest in the country’s youth and sports.”

Also delivering a speech, President Tatar highlighted that it was the state’s fundamental duty to invest in its youth.

He emphasized that municipalities should support village teams and should also collaborate with major teams to open doors for athletes, while the state should provide facilities and opportunities for them.

“With investments made in villages, the country’s sports will reach better places,” said President Tatar, emphasizing the importance of sending a message to the world despite unjust embargoes.
