Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, stressed that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was a national cause for Türkiye.

Meeting with the Speaker of the Kazakh Parliament, Yerlan Koshanov, Kurtulmuş expressed hope for the completion of the approval process in the Kazakh Parliament for the Protocol Amending the Nakhchivan Agreement, which would ensure the TRNC’s full participation in the activities of the Organization of Turkic States as an observer member.

The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, who is on an official visit to Türkiye.

During the meeting, Speaker Kurtulmuş stated that the cooperation between Türkiye and Kazakhstan continues to grow in all areas and highlighted the observer membership of the TRNC in the Organization of Turkic States.

Reminding that the TRNC was a national issue for Türkiye, Kurtulmuş expressed their desire for the Kazakh Parliament to finalize the approval process for the Protocol Amending the Nakhchivan Agreement, which will enable the TRNC to fully participate in the Organization’s activities as an observer.

Speaker Koshanov of the Kazakh Parliament noted that Türkiye was an important strategic partner for Kazakhstan and stressed that, thanks to the efforts of both countries’ presidents, the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two nations are strengthening day by day.
