The Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş asked the Chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan Nurdincan Ismailov for support so that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) can take part in the Organization of Turkic States with an observer state status.

The Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş met with Chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan Nurdincan Ismailov in Tashkent, where he paid an official visit.

Kurtulmuş underlined the need to strengthen relations in the Turkic world in the geography extending from Central Asia to Anatolia and the Balkans and pointed out that this would be a great opportunity to ensure world peace.

He also stated that Türkiye and Uzbekistan will contribute to the development of the Turkic world by increasing their close cooperation and that they expect support from the Parliament (Ali Mejlis) of Uzbekistan  to ensure that the TRNC is included in the Organization of Turkic States with the status of an observer state.
