Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades, whose term of office ends next month and President Ersin Tatar will be coming together at a social dinner planned for the last week of January.

According to information obtained by the BRT News Room from the Office of the President, President Ersin Tatar and Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades will meet for a social dinner in the last week of January.

The social dinner will be held before the end of the Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiades’ term just shortly before presidential elections are held in South Cyprus on February 5.

While it is stated that both leaders responded positively to the dinner, the details of the meeting will be finalized after the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Cyprus Colin Stewart arrives on the island on January 22.

The two leaders’ last meeting took place on December 7 during the UN’s annual New Year’s reception.
