An art competition to mark 1st of June International Children’s Day was organised as part of events marking Bayrak Radio Television’s (BRTK) 60 years in broadcasting.

In previous years, the BRTK has traditionally held drawing competitions on different occasions and topics.

This year, the competition was held under the theme “Media in the World You Imagine.”

The competition aimed to raise children’s awareness of how events are presented through sound and visuals, and to enhance their understanding of the media as well as encourage children to use their imagination to depict the meaning of media in their own worlds through drawings and to bring their dreams to life with colours.

The participants were encouraged to explore their creativity and express their thoughts on the role of media in shaping their imagined world.

188 students from public and private primary and secondary schools took part in the competition.

Under the supervision of Ayhatun Ateşin and with the participation of BRT Director Meryem Özkurt, the jury members Erten Kasımoğlu, Emel Samioğlu, Nilgün Güney, Kemal Behcet Caymaz, and Pınar Başman, the President of the Mevhibe and Mustafa Başman Foundation, gathered to determine the best drawings.

Accordingly, 17 drawings were deemed worthy of awards. The students who received awards for their artwork will be presented with their prizes during a ceremony to be held at 6pm this evening.

Certificates of participation will be given to the students whose drawings were considered worthy of being exhibited.

The award-winning and exhibition-worthy drawings will be showcased at the Broadcasting History Museum HD Exhibition Hall.
