
A military ceremony was held on Monday for Mustafa Zorlu, a veteran of the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation, who lost his life.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Turkish Peace Forces Veterans Association Nusrettin Yuca stated that their pain was great and thanked everyone who was with them at the ceremony.
President Ersin Tatar, who also attended the ceremony, emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people gained their independence with the Peace Operation and for this reason the value of each veteran is great.
He wished God’s mercy to Gazi Mustafa Zorlu and patience to his family.
After funeral prayers were completed at the Lefkoşa İsmail Safa Mosque Gazi Mustafa Zorlu was buried at the Lefkoşa Cemetery.
The Turkish flag wrapped around Mustafa Zorlu’s coffin was handed over to Zorlu’s son by President Ersin Tatar.
