Air Defense Units from the Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus are set to conduct live-fire drills, known as “NOTAM-based firing,” from November 18 to 22 in the Çatalköy, Teknecik, and Esentepe areas of Girne district, it was announced on Monday.
The district office has announced guidelines to ensure public safety during the exercises.
Girne District Officer Cemal Özcemoğlu outlined the precautions in place to protect life and property.
During the drills, residents and visitors are advised to avoid grazing livestock, harvesting crops such as olives and carobs, engaging in agricultural activities, and fishing in specified areas.
Additionally, the public is asked to refrain from visiting the region for recreational purposes, including walking dogs or any other activities.
All materials that could obstruct helicopter operations, such as water trailers, should also be removed from the area.
These restrictions are aimed at maintaining safety and security around the İncekum Firing Range throughout the exercise period.
