The “10th World Halal Summit” organized under the auspices of the Presidency of Türkiye started at the Istanbul Expo Center.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu attended the opening of the summit and delivered speeches.

The World Halal Summit, being held under the theme of “Successful 10th Year in Halal,” was held in Istanbul under the leadership of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

This summit, organized by the Standards and Metrology Cooperation of Islamic Countries, the Turkish Ministry of Trade, and the Halal Accreditation Agency, brought together participants from over 100 countries and covered various aspects of the halal industry.

Vice President of the World Halal Summit Emre Ete expressed his happiness in hosting the event once again, highlighting the growing popularity of the halal market.

He emphasized that the sector is now preferred not only by Muslims but also by consumers from all segments due to its reliability and the availability of healthy products and services.

Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu during his speech at the event stated that participating in the summit was a significant step towards increasing visibility for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He said that with the support of Türkiye, they aim to create conditions that foster further commercial agreements.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu during his speech highlighted the potential of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) not only as a tourist and educational destination but also as a hub for alternative areas such as health and halal tourism.

He emphasized the TRNC’s commitment to developing in these areas in addition to the traditional sun, sea, and beach tourism.

Ataoğlu stated that the TRNC is making progress in becoming an important global destination by offering high-standard hospitals, specialized doctors and cost-effective services.

Furthermore, Ataoğlu expressed the TRNC’s dedication to sharing its natural beauty and historical richness with the world.

He regarded the summit as a valuable platform for establishing strong cooperation between different cultures, beliefs, and countries.

He said that the TRNC’s efforts in the field of modern medicine have positioned it as a privileged player, offering both traditional and advanced treatment methods.

“In conclusion, the World Halal Summit not only facilitated discussions on the halal market but also provided an opportunity for the TRNC to showcase its potential in health and halal tourism, establishing itself as a desirable destination worldwide” said Ataoğlu.

In his speech, Ataoğlu emphasized that the TRNC is an island of tourism and education, as well as an island that develops and attracts attention every year.

Minister Ataoğlu said, “With the steps we will take with the support of the Republic of Türkiye, we will provide the conditions to create the chance to go further with commercial agreements.”
