Mormenekşe 2nd Culture, Art and Producers Festival was realized

Mormenekşe hosted folk dance performances, concerts and colourful events throughout the day on Sunday as the 2nd Mormenekşe Culture, Art and Producers Festival was realized.

President Ersin Tatar and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre attended the festival.

While many colourful events were realized throughout the day, the women of the region had the opportunity to sell what they had been producing and creating throughout the year.

The festival started with an opening speech by the President of the Mormenekşe Contemporary Women’s Association Hayriye Tokyay.

She said that they have been actively working for 10 years to empower women in social, cultural and economic terms and to carry the culture to future generations.

The speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre who also attended the festival delivered a short speech pointing to the importance of culture and art festivals and congratulated those who contributed.

He also touched upon Iran’s war against Israel and stated that this is unacceptable.

“We do not want war in the world, let there be peace, let friendship win, we will protect the Blue Homeland and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC)” said Töre.

President Ersin Tatar who also attended the event emphasized the importance of strengthening the productive structure of women and maintaining their existence in these lands with their own culture.

Tatar reiterated his wish that the conflict initiated by Iran on Israel will stop and the events experienced by those in Gaza will come to an end and invited everyone to use common sense.
