“Your elders performed great heroism there and carried out the operation with great success despite the preparations and attacks made by the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo for years,” said Tatar.
He noted that the Turkish Cypriot people are pleased and confident with the achievements of Türkiye in the national defense industry, the superiority and contemporary capabilities of the Turkish maritime industry in the protection of rights and law in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Blue Homeland.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre who also received the commanders and students of the Naval Academy emphasized the importance of the presence of Turkish soldiers on the island.
Töre said that the presence of Turkish soldiers in Cyprus provides confidence for the TRNC and superiority in the Eastern Mediterranean for Türkiye.
Töre also criticized the planned naval base activities in South Cyprus.
He stated that every step to be taken by the Greek Cypriot Administration should be reciprocated in the TRNC and underlined that if necessary, Türkiye can establish bases in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus where naval ships and aircrafts are stationed.
