Efforts to create a unity of power in the Turkic World are gaining strength.

After the decision on the Common Turkic Alphabet, it is now time for a common map of the Turkic World.

At the first meeting held under the umbrella of the Organization of Turkic States, a declaration text on cooperation related to cartography was signed.

The heads of cartography institutions from member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States met in the Turkish capital Ankara to discuss the creation of a common map for the Turkic world.

Representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Hungary, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkmenistan participated in the meeting.

They signed a declaration on cooperation in cartography and agreed to create the Map of the Organization of Turkic States and the Map of the Turkic World.

Major General Osman Alp, Director General of the General Directorate of Mapping of the Ministry of National Defense of Türkiye, emphasized the importance of the map for the defense of the country.

He stated that the map would help citizens understand the close connections between Turkic states and promote unity.

“By showcasing shared customs, traditions, and life issues, the map will strengthen historical and cultural ties, increase cultural interaction, and contribute to the rapprochement of Turkic states. The production of this map is considered of great importance” said Alp.
