The 2023 ITB Berlin travel exhibition has kicked off…

North Cyprus is also being promoted at the fair where tourism from 180 countries is marketed.

Deputy Prime Minister, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoğlu also attended the ITB Berlin Fair, which is being held for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tourism of 180 countries is being marketed at the fair.

During his visit to Berlin, Minister Ataoğlu also met with the President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, Firuz Bağlıkaya.

In his statement during his visit to the travel market, Ataoğlu said that they were promoting Northern Cyprus not only with its natural beauty, but also with its rich history and culture.

He added that a more active promotion campaign was taking place this year with the contributions of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Ataoğlu also said that they had stepped up their efforts to market special interest tourism, which was currently made up of German tourists during the winter season.

Noting that North Cyprus stood out in terms of both health and safety, Ataoğlu said, “Germans love the weather and climate of North Cyprus. They especially prefer our hiking trails with mountain and sea views. As the Ministry, we are working to increase alternative tourism types because the tourism model preferred by the people of each country differs.”
