The Supreme Election Council has announced the calendar for the upcoming Parliamentary by-elections to be held on June 25.
According to the announcement, election bans will start on Friday May 26, and the deadline for submitting candidacies ends next Wednesday, May 31.
The propaganda period will begin on May 31, and the finalized candidates will be announced on June 4.
Candidates will be able to start campaigning on June 5.
Voters in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are preparing to head to the polls on Sunday, June 25 to elect an MP for the seat vacated in parliament following the resignation of the leader of the People’s Party from the Republic’s Assembly.
According to the Supreme Election Council, the countdown to the election begins on May 26 with the coming into force of election bans.
According to the election calendar, the last day for the publication of ballot box voter lists is June 3.
The date for the finalization of candidates and the announcement of the finalized candidates by the Supreme Election Council and District Election Boards will be on June 4.
Following the finalization of candidates and a draw to be held in the presence of the Supreme Election Board, the order of candidates to be used by political parties and independent candidates throughout the election process will be announced.
According to the election schedule announced by the Supreme Election Council, political parties will have to submit a petition on June 6 to conduct propaganda on Bayrak Radio Television (BRT).
According to the calendar, the last day for the publication of public opinion polls and research related to the elections is June 10 and the deadline for the distribution of voter cards is June 22.
According to the announcement, the last day of election propaganda is June 24.
