The 2025 Annual Program of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye has been released.

The program aims to increase daily crude oil production to 172,000 barrels and annual natural gas production to 3 billion cubic meters, with drilling planned in 270 wells on land and at sea.

It also includes collecting 3D seismic data across a 21,000-square-kilometer area, which encompasses the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ (TRNC) maritime zones.

According to Anadolu Agency, the total oil reserves discovered in fields since 2021 have reached 867 million barrels.

The program states that current daily oil production is approximately 110,000 barrels, with the target of reaching 172,000 barrels per day in 2025.

The report states that seismic and drilling activities for oil and gas exploration will be intensified on land and at sea, including the maritime areas of the TRNC.

The report also highlights that domestic oil production has accelerated as part of Türkiye’s efforts to reduce energy dependence and utilize local resources in the economy.

As of September, the number of production wells in the region has reached 50, and oil production has increased to 48,100 barrels per day.
