Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Ziya Öztürkler issued a message on the occasion of World Theatre Day.
In his message, Speaker Ziya Öztürkler highlighted that theatre, one of the branches of art encompassing all human emotions, had historically been one of the most effective means of conveying social emotions and thoughts to audiences.
“Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words, ‘A nation deprived of art has lost one of its vital lifelines,’ stress the role and necessity of art in our lives. In theatre, every line carries an emotion, and every scene holds a life. Without a doubt, when the stage lights turn on, dreams become reality, and reality transforms into art,” Öztürkler said.
“With these thoughts and sentiments, I extend my best wishes to all theatre artists, stage workers, and theatre enthusiasts who contribute to the development of this vital art form and strive to bring it to wider audiences. I celebrate World Theatre Day and hope that theatre curtains will always rise to days filled with art,” he concluded.
