Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Mahmoud Abbas.

The meeting at the Presidential Complex was closed to the press.

After the two-and-a-half-hour meeting, a brief statement was issued.

The discussion covered Israel’s massacres in Palestinian territories, steps needed for a lasting ceasefire and peace, and current developments.

President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that Türkiye will continue to support Palestine’s just cause and will keep working to halt Israel’s actions and increase international pressure on Israel.

Noting that Israel continued to kill civilians, including babies, displace innocent Palestinians, target schools, hospitals, and shelters, and force people into hunger and thirst, Erdoğan condemned the silence of some Western countries and their continued aid to Israel as unacceptable.

Turkish President Erdoğan also stressed the need for all countries, particularly in the Islamic world, to increase their efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
