The delegations of the Azerbaijan Friendship Groups and the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) – Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Friendship Group, which paid a historic visit to the TRNC, completed their contacts and have left the country.

Describing their visit as very productive, Cavanşir Feyziyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan National Assembly TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, said that they see the TRNC as their home.

The TGNA-TRNC Friendship Group and Azerbaijan Friendship Groups, which completed their contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have left the country.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre saw off the delegations at Ercan Airport.

The Chairman of the Azerbaijan National Assembly TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Cavanşir Feyziyev said that their visit to the TRNC was very productive in terms of getting to know the brotherly Turkish Cypriot people and state.

Stating that they will be able to make plans for the TRNC more easily with the new information they have acquired, Feyziyev said that they did not feel like strangers during their stay in the TRNC and that both the state and the people showed great interest in them.

Feyziyev noted that they regard the TRNC as their home and expressed the hope that they will meet again in Baku.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre also noted that the relationship between the TRNC and Azerbaijan was formalized with the friendship group established between the TRNC and Azerbaijan, which made them very happy.

Töre emphasized that they expect the Azerbaijani delegation to visit the TRNC again and said, “We are brothers, we are one nation”.

He said that the Turkic states have started to meet each other and that this meeting was only the beginning.
