Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre issued a message regarding Israel’s attacks on Palestine.

In his message, Töre noted that Israel continues to attack Palestine in front of the whole world and everyone has now witnessed that genocide can be committed without firing a single bullet by depriving people of their most basic rights, condemning them to hunger, thirst and no electricity.

“The United Nations has not prevented the tragedy experienced by Palestinians for 76 years, has not prevented the occupation of Palestine, which continues to increase every day, and the conflicts that have been going on for 76 years” said Töre.

He also stated that the European Union, which is another so called defender of human rights and freedoms and claims it strongly opposes human rights violations, now only condemns the massacre of civilians and children.

“We expect the blockade on Gaza to be lifted as soon as possible and humanitarian aid from the UN and other countries to reach the region” said Töre.

Expressing the hope that the international community, namely the United Nations, will start taking action instead of only using its words and start proving that it gives value to human rights by ending occupation and genocide, Töre said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) supports Palestine’s struggle for life, existence and independence.

“I would like to express my deep sorrow for the loss of life. We condemn those who continue this shame by supporting Israel” Töre wrote as a conclusion to his message.
