The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre stated that teachers perform a sacred duty that requires labour, patience and tolerance, which draws its strength from love.
He said, “Teachers are the leader of society.”
Issuing a message to mark the 24th of November Teachers’ Day, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre stated that teaching is one of the most honourable professions all over the world and pointed out that after the family, teachers have the biggest share in the moral, cultural, social and scientific development of a nation.
Referring to the words of the great Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Chief Teacher that a society needs educators and teachers in order to become a nation, that they are the ones who make the society a real nation, Töre noted that Atatürk pointed to the sacred and important duty that teachers perform with his words.
“A teacher leads society, and is the leader of the society. For this reason, teachers must be the most respected people of society” said Töre in his message.
