Students from the Güvercinlik Rauf Raif Denktaş Primary School visited parliament on Thursday as part of a school field trip.

Addressing the students, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre emphasized that preserving the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was their greatest duty.

Students from the Güvercinlik Rauf Raif Denktaş Primary School paid a visit to the Republic’s Assembly on Thursday during which they were informed on the duties, responsibilities and activities of the parliament.

Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre who came together with the students reminded that the school was named after the late TRNC founding president Rauf Raif Denktaş who, together with Dr. Fazıl Küçük, were leaders of the Turkish Cypriot people’s national struggle.

He said the Turkish Cypriot people were the proud owners of a state thanks to the struggle of these two leaders.

Stating that they will continue to follow in the footsteps of the great Turkish leader Atatürk and will never give up on the Republic, Töre reiterated that perpetuating the TRNC was their greatest duty.
