During his meeting with his Turkish counterpart Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker Töre said that the Cyprus issue was a national cause for the Turkish Cypriot people, adding that no force can cast a shadow on the unity and integrity of the Turkish nation.

He pointed out that the UN has never been able to establish peace on the island and noted that the recent massacres in Gaza have once again raised questions on the effectiveness and function of the UN.

Stressing the need for the Turkish nation to always be strong and for national unity to be continuously strengthened, Töre stated that they will continue on the path with motherland Türkiye.

Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly for his part said that they shared the views and emotions of the Turkish Cypriot people on the Cyprus issue.

He expressed that the difficult years for the Turkish Cypriots are behind them and stated the belief that there are no obstacles for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to become a much stronger state in the future.

Emphasizing the complete integration of the TRNC and Türkiye, Kurtulmuş highlighted that northern Cyprus is at the beginning of a period where it can establish itself as a state internationally.

He also stated that in the future, the rights and law of the Turkish Cypriots on the island and their rights in the Eastern Mediterranean will not be abandoned.

As part of his contacts, Töre also visited TÜBİTAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye).

Following his contacts, Töre is set to move onto Konya for more contacts before returning to the island on Saturday.
