The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre said that their duty is to protect, preserve and promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Töre made the statement while receiving students and teachers from the 4 İşlem Education Centre at the Republics Assembly.
Addressing students at the General Assembly hall, the Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre said that the expression “Sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation” that is displayed on the wall of the hall should be understood well and that the Members of Parliament are in the Assembly on behalf of the public.
Referring to the great Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words “As the Turkish child gets to know his ancestors, he will find strength in himself to do greater deeds”, Töre noted that children should always know their past and history well.
He Pointed out that their duty is to protect, preserve and promote the TRNC and said, “You were born in the Republic. How blessed you are. You are free, independent and under security. You will grow up as useful individuals for your society and the people.”
