The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre met with the German member of the European Parliament Helmut Geuking, who is carrying out a variety of contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

During the visit Töre informed the German MP on the Cyprus problem.

He said that in the light of all the developments that have taken place it is obvious that the only realistic solution in Cyprus would be a solution based on two separate states and that they agreed on this issue together with Motherland Türkiye.

Stating that the Greece and Greek Cypriot side continues to be spoiled because the European Union and some countries continue to ignore the realities of the island, Töre thanked Geuking for visiting the TRNC in order to listen to the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people.

German MP Helmut Geuking for his part stated that he visited South Cyprus last year and therefore visited North Cyprus this year.

He said that it was his aim to listen to the views of both sides on the island.
