The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre conveyed his condolences and get well wishes to the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Mustafa Şentop on Tuesday.

“The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is mobilized with all its means” Töre stressed.

The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre said that he has spoken with Turkish officials, especially with the Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop conveying his condolences and get well wishes.

According to a written statement issued from the parliament, Töre reminded that the earthquake which affected 10 provinces has caused major loss of life, injuries and much damage and expressed the hope that the TRNC will receive good news from the students who are trapped under the rubble in Adıyaman.

Noting that they were in constant consultation with Şentop and other Turkish authorities, the Parliamentary Speaker said that despite the situation worsening, the great efforts of the Turkish government, especially Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are continuing.

Töre noted that the President, the government, the Turkish Peace Forces Command in Cyprus, the Security Forces Command, municipalities, various institutions and the public had mobilized in the TRNC; and said that efforts were continuing to heal the wounds as soon as possible.

Reminding that he had also taken part in the earthquake crisis desk meetings held at the Presidency, Töre stressed that Türkiye was a great and powerful country and that he believed that the wounds will be healed as soon as possible.
