Parl. Speaker Töre visits Gaziantep and Adıyaman

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre is in Türkiye for a series of contacts in the provinces of Gaziantep, Adıyaman and Malatya.

According to information released by the Republic’s Assembly, Töre was welcomed by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Gaziantep Consul General Kerem İzmen and other officials at Oğuzeli Airport in Gaziantep.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre visited Gaziantep Governorship and met with Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber and Mayor Fatma Şahin.

Speaking during the visit, Töre expressed his happiness from conducting a visit to Türkiye covering 3 provinces.

He expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquake and expressed the hope that the Turkish nation would never experience such a pain again.

Pointing out that Gaziantep was one of the symbolic provinces during the Turkish War of Independence, Töre said that just like the independence struggle in Anatolia, the Turkish Cypriot people also waged their own struggle to exist in Cyprus.

Pointing out that the Turkish Cypriots are a part of the Turkish nation, Töre noted that the national cause was being carried out jointly with motherland Türkiye.

Praising the efforts carried out in Gaziantep after the earthquake to bring life back to normal, Töre said that Türkiye and the TRNC are united in both joy and sorrow.

Following his visits to provincial administrators in Gaziantep, Töre moved on to to Adıyaman.

Töre is being accompanied by Director of Financial, Technical and Parliamentary Services of the Parliament Hasan Büyükoğl, and Private Secretary İrem Uygun.
