Parl. Speaker Töre wraps up Ankara contacts with a visit to YÖK

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre, within the framework of his contacts in Türkiye, visited the President of the Higher Education Board (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

During the visit, Töre pointed out that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was a country of universities, emphasizing the significant contributions of YÖK to the country and its institutions of higher education in this regard.

Speaking during his meeting Prof Özvar, Töre said that the Turkish Cypriot people were proud to be part of the Turkish nation.

Expressing their pride in the achievements of YÖK, the parliamentary speaker noted that the board performed a very important task.

Töre, highlighting that Türkiye is a growing and strengthening country, stated that a strong country always fulfils the requirements of the policies it follows.

Recalling the events in Gaza, Töre emphasized the importance of the newer generations understanding the importance of living in peace, especially when considering how the international community stands indifferent to conflicts such as the one ongoing in Gaza.

Pointing out that the TRNC is a country of universities; Töre emphasized the significant contributions of YÖK to the country and its higher institutions in this regard.

Töre completed his contacts in Ankara and proceeded to Konya.
