Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly, Ziya Öztürkler, shared a hopeful and determined message for the new year, highlighting the Parliament’s commitment to advancing the prosperity, security, and development of the Turkish Cypriot people in 2025.

Reflecting on 2024, Öztürkler noted it as a year marked by significant changes in both global and local dynamics.

He emphasized the tragedies of war, including the loss of innocent lives, and expressed hope for a world governed by peace and humanity in 2025.

“Let 2025 be the year where humanity’s collective conscience prevails, wars come to an end, and peace reigns globally,” Öztürkler stated.

The Speaker expressed optimism about the strengthening of collaboration within the Turkic World.

,He emphasized the opportunities for closer integration among Turkic States in 2025, stating, “With the support of Türkiye, we firmly believe our observer status in the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA) will soon be elevated to full membership.”

Öztürkler also highlighted the TRNC’s growing recognition in the international arena, recalling Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s call for the recognition of the TRNC during his speech at the UN General Assembly.

“We are determined to continue our efforts to ensure the TRNC attains the respect and status it deserves, particularly within the Turkic States and the broader international community,” he added.

The Speaker underscored the importance of unity, solidarity, and determination for the TRNC’s strong and independent future.

“A nation’s greatest strength lies in the trust and belief its people have in each other,” Öztürkler remarked, emphasizing the vital role of public support in motivating the government’s efforts.

He reaffirmed the Parliament’s dedication to working tirelessly for the welfare of the people, stating that 2025 represents not just a new calendar year but also a new beginning and a chance to achieve new goals.

In his message, Öztürkler reiterated the TRNC Parliament’s focus on ensuring the country’s socio-economic development, security, and prosperity.

He called for ongoing efforts to secure a better future for the younger generation under Türkiye’s active and effective guarantee.

Concluding his message, Öztürkler extended his heartfelt wishes for 2025: “On behalf of myself and the members of the TRNC Parliament, I wish health, happiness, peace, and prosperity to all our people, our brothers and sisters in Türkiye, the great Turkish nation, and all humanity.
