The delegation of the Economy, Finance, Budget and Planning Committee of the Republic’s Assembly is holding contacts in the Turkish capital Ankara.
The delegation first visited Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
They then met with the chairman and members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Planning and Budget Committee and were later received by the Deputy Speaker of the TGNA Cemal Adan.
The delegation of the Economy, Finance, Budget and Planning Committee of the Republic’s Assembly chaired by Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay, is holding a variety of contacts in Ankara.
In addition to Canaltay, the delegation, which includes Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Erkut Şahali, Committee Members National Unity Party (UBP) MPs Alişan Şan and Hasan Küçük, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Salahi Şahiner, former member of the Committee, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Fikri Toros and Parliamentary Secretary General Seral Fırat, visited the Anıtkabir within the framework of their contacts.
The delegation observed a minute of silence, a wreath was laid at the mausoleum by Committee Chairman Canaltay and the special book was signed.
The delegation then met with the Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) Planning and Budget Committee Mehmet Muş and members of the Committee.
Speaking here Canaltay stated that it is their sincere desire to bring the Cyprus issue to a conclusion in line with the common interests of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus(TRNC), based on sovereignty, freedom and security under the guarantees of Motherland Türkiye.
Providing information about the laws passed by the Parliament and the bills in the committee, Canaltay mentioned that they have shown successful developments in many areas within the framework of the support they have received from Türkiye.
Committee chairman Muş for his part said that many joint activities are being carried out between the institutions of the TRNC and Türkiye and added that these activities will continue in the coming period.
Stating that they support the two-state solution put forward by TRNC President Ersin Tatar on the Cyprus issue, Muş emphasized that they will provide all the necessary support for the independence of the TRNC and for it to be embraced by the world.
The delegation was then received by the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Celal Adan.
Speaking here, Canaltay said that they continue the two-state solution policy on the Cyprus Problem, which is carried out together with Motherland Türkiye, without compromising, and that they are pleased that this policy, led by President Ersin Tatar, is visible to the international community.
“The registration of our existence on the island of Cyprus is our state, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,” said Çanaltay.
Celal Adan for his part stated that they are trying to take steps at the parliamentary level in order to increase the visibility of the TRNC in the international arena and noted that they find observer memberships to the Organization of Turkic States and TURKPA to be very important.
He also mentioned that they consider it as a priority goal to secure the freedom and future of the Turkish Cypriot people, to increase their welfare level and to strengthen them with all their institutions and organizations.
